Copenhagen's Multicultural Heritage - Reggae at Husum

3 videos below in all.

On Sunday, August 28, 2011, the Same Vibration (bio-link in Danish and English) reggae band appeared at the Copenhagen municipal "Husums områdefornyelse" (Husum region renewal) stage. Israeli-born lead singer, Didi Levy, pushes the boundaries of people's conscience, with his provocative blend of rock, funk, country, calypso, middle-eastern as well as reggae.

So sit back and enjoy a few minutes of very unusual multicultural music. The video below states it all, including my embedded documentary Op-Editorial, as Denmark makes ready to hopefully vote with a conscience on September 15. The locale where this video was shot is just on the edge of a major ghetto which has been the scene of many shootings and other inter-ethnic, gang related violence. I once worked at the social-psychiatric office there, and one morning, when I opened the office, found the place shot full of holes from some stray bullets. Part of the municipality's purpose with an event such as the one you are about to briefly enjoy below, as well as the general renewal project, is to occupy young minds with work and encourage their better potentials through the summer months, as well as beautifying the historic Frederikssundsvej region of Brønshøj-Husum. In a later blog, I will share a video interview with one of the project's directors.

At minute 1.00, a text scrolls by too fast: Here is that text; you can link on the first phrase to the wiki:

This is the Føtex supermarket by where I live. The chain is owned by the multinational corporation, Maersk (Dansk Supermarked A/S) and Denmark's wealthiest man, who owns also a monopoly in energy, fossil fuels, news-media, transportation/shipping, banking and much more, and gained his restart capital by cooperating with the Nazi Occupation. This is documented. Maersk also has gotten all Pentagon shipping transport contracts for war since Vietnam.

The controversy over the Danish multinational Mærsk's (including Dansk Supermarked A/S and Føtex) monopoloy and history is documented and can be found here:

Denmark is world-renownded for her ability to build major bridges over the seas the seperate her many islands. Now let us see her build bridges across her cultures.

The videos that bring you up close to Copenhagen's more historic heritage, such as our castles, churches, universities, and viking ships etc are in the tube. I am just extremely busy with many projects at the moment, so that will have to wait a few more weeks.
